Chronic venous insufficiency is a progressive condition, and leg ulcers represent its most severe and painful stage. At the Leg Ulcer Center, Dr. Bria Miller, MD, DABFM, DABVLM, CWSP, focuses on helping patients halt this progression before it reaches this critical threshold. With over 9 years of specialized clinical experience, Dr. Miller is dedicated to protecting patients across New York from the debilitating complications of advanced, untreated vein disease by intervening at the very first signs of severe circulatory failure.
- Advanced CVI & Ulcer Prevention: Comprehensive care for chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), severe varicose veins, and halting disease progression.
- Targeted Ulcer & Reflux Therapy: In-office procedures like endovenous ablation and foam therapy to eliminate the root causes of leg ulcers.
- Precision Venous Mapping: Advanced diagnostic ultrasonography to evaluate complex reflux and locate the exact source of poor circulation.
- Wound Care & Recurrence Prevention: Active management of open leg ulcers combined with long-term vascular wellness strategies to help reduce the risk of recurrence.
Preparing for a career tackling complex medical pathologies, she completed her undergraduate training in Bachelor of Science in Biology at Xavier University of Louisiana. Dr. Miller earned her medical degree from Saint James School of Medicine, focusing intensively on systemic anatomy and vascular pathology. To bridge medical theory with acute patient management, Dr. Miller then completed a rigorous, high-volume residency in Family Medicine at Southern Illinois University, sharpening her diagnostic and surgical acumen. Dedicated to treating severe circulatory failures, she pursued specialized fellowship training in advanced vascular interventions at Center for Vein Restoration.
At the Leg Ulcer Center, Dr. Miller goes beyond surface-level treatments. She pinpoints the root cause of venous failure and uses advanced, minimally invasive options like medical-grade sclerotherapy and RFA to promote active wound healing and restore healthy blood flow. Because navigating chronic pain can be overwhelming for patients, Dr. Miller deeply integrates her core philosophy of “I believe excellent patient care means creating an environment where patients feel comfortable, respected, and heard. I approach each patient with compassion and patience. I recognize that healthcare visits can be stressful; I focus on clear communication and encourage questions. Patient education is also important to me. I explain their condition and treatment in a way so they feel informed and empowered. My goal is for every patient to feel supported and confident in their healthcare experience.” into every interaction, combining clinical precision with genuine empathy.
